पठका: पाठकाश्ैव ये चान्ये शास्त्रचिन्तका: । सर्वे व्यसनिनो मूर्खा यः क्रियावान्‌ स पण्डित:

paṭhakāḥ pāṭhakāś caiva ye cānye śāstra-cintakāḥ | sarve vyasanino mūrkhā yaḥ kriyāvān sa paṇḍitaḥ ||

جو صرف پڑھتے ہیں، جو پڑھاتے ہیں، اور جو محض شاستروں پر غور و بحث کرتے رہتے ہیں—اگر وہ عمل تک نہ پہنچیں تو وہ سب جھگڑے اور نمود کے عادی اور نادان ہیں۔ حقیقی پنڈت وہی ہے جو شاستر کے بتائے ہوئے فرض کو بجا لاتا ہے۔
