जयद्रथ-निग्रहः — Jayadratha Restrained, Shamed, and Released
एष ते वैष्णवो नाम यज्ञ: सत्पुरुषोचित:
eṣa te vaiṣṇavo nāma yajñaḥ satpuruṣocitaḥ |
یہ ‘وَیشْنَو’ نام کا یَجْن ہے—جو سَتْپُرُشوں کے لائق ہے۔
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse frames the Vaiṣṇava sacrifice as ‘satpuruṣocita’—fit for the virtuous—linking religious practice to moral worth and presenting devotion to Viṣṇu as a dharmic, ethically appropriate act rather than mere ceremony.
Vaiśampāyana, as narrator, identifies and commends a specific rite—the Vaiṣṇava-yajña—addressing his listener and characterizing the sacrifice as proper for noble persons, thereby elevating its status within the ongoing discourse.
