स तेनाभिहतो दीर्णो गिरि: श्वेतो5चलै: सह । उत्पपात महीं त्यक्त्वा भीतस्तस्मान्महात्मन:,इस प्रकार कार्तिकेयद्वारा शक्तिके आघातसे विदीर्ण होकर श्वेत पर्वत उन महात्माके भयसे डर गया और (दूसरे) पर्वतोंके साथ इस पृथ्वीको छोड़कर आकाशमें उड़ गया
sa tenābhihato dīrṇo giriḥ śveto 'calaiḥ saha | utpapāta mahīṃ tyaktvā bhītastasmān mahātmanaḥ ||
اس کے وار سے پھٹ کر کوہِ شویت دوسرے پہاڑوں سمیت اس مہاتما کے خوف سے زمین چھوڑ کر آسمان کی طرف اچھل پڑا۔
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
Even what seems immovable and supreme (like mountains) can be humbled when confronted with a higher, righteous power; fear and retreat arise naturally when arrogance meets overwhelming moral or divine force.
After being struck, Mount Śveta is torn apart and, frightened of the great-souled agent behind the blow, it leaves the earth and springs upward into the sky along with other mountains.
