Dharma-vyādha’s Analysis of Moral Decline and the Mahābhūta–Guṇa Schema (धर्मव्याधोपदेशः)
विप्लवे विप्रदत्तानि दधिमस्त्वक्षयाणि च । पूर्वकी ओर बहनेवाली नदीका प्रवाह जहाँ पश्चिमकी ओर मुड़ गया हो
viplave vipradattāni dadhimastv akṣayāṇi ca |
مارکنڈیہ نے کہا— ہنگامہ و ابتلا کے زمانے میں بھی برہمنوں کو دیا ہوا دہی، چھاچھ وغیرہ کا دان اَکشَی (لازوال) پُنّیہ دینے والا بتایا گیا ہے۔ جہاں مشرق کی طرف بہنے والی ندی کا بہاؤ پلٹ کر مغرب کی طرف مڑ جائے، وہ ‘پرتِسروت’ تیرتھ کہلاتا ہے؛ وہاں عمدہ گھوڑوں کا دان اَکشَی پُنّیہ دیتا ہے۔ اَنّ کی تلاش میں پھرنے والے مہمان-روپ اِندر کو اگر بھوجن سے تَرپت کیا جائے تو وہ بھی اَکشَی پُنّیہ کا سبب بنتا ہے۔ ندیوں کے عظیم بہاؤ میں گرہن کے وقت برہمنوں کو دیا ہوا دَھدھی مَند اور مذکورہ دان اَکشَی پُنّیہ دلاتے ہیں؛ اور وہاں اسنان کرنے والا مرد بڑے بڑے پاپوں سے چھوٹ جاتا ہے۔ پَرو کے موقع پر دیا ہوا دان دوگنا، اور رِتو کے آغاز پر دیا ہوا دان دس گنا پُنّیہ دायक ہوتا ہے؛ اُترایَن یا دکشنایَن کے آغاز، وِشُوَو یوگ، مِتھُن-کَنیا-دھنو-مِین سنکرانتیوں اور چَندر-سورَج گرہن کے موقع پر دیا ہوا دان اَکشَی کہا گیا ہے۔
