Adhyāya 168: Arjuna’s counters to māyā-rains and the onset of darkness

ततः प्राञज्जलिरेवाहमस्त्रेषु गतमानस:
tataḥ prāñjalir evāham astreṣu gatamānasaḥ | manasā śaṅkaraṃ devaṃ praṇamyaivam abhāṣata || yadi me bhagavān tuṣṭaḥ syāt tad varam imaṃ vṛṇe | devatānāṃ yathā divyāny astrāṇi santi tāny aham | jñātum icchāmi sarvāṇi || etac chrutvā bhagavān śaṅkara uvāca | pāṇḍunandana sarvadivyāstraprāptim te varaṃ dadāmi ||
پھر میں ہاتھ جوڑ کر کھڑا ہوا؛ میرا دل و دماغ سراسر اسلحہ و اَستر-وِدیا میں لگا تھا۔ میں نے دل ہی دل میں بھگوان شَنکر کو پرنام کیا اور کہا—“اگر پروردگار مجھ پر راضی ہیں تو یہی میرا ور ہے: دیوتاؤں کے پاس جو جو دیویہ اَستر ہیں، میں اُن سب کو جاننا چاہتا ہوں۔” یہ سن کر بھگوان شَنکر نے فرمایا—“اے پاندو نندن! میں تمہیں تمام دیویہ اَستروں کے حصول کا ور دیتا ہوں۔”
