उद्योगपर्व — विदुरनीतिः (Adhyāya 37): आयुःक्षयहेतवः, नीतिसूत्राणि, बलभेदाः, पाण्डव-विग्रहदोषदर्शनम्
पूजनीया महाभागा: पुण्याश्च गृहदीप्तय: । स्त्रिय: श्रियो गृहस्योक्तास्तस्माद् रक्ष्या विशेषत:
pūjanīyā mahābhāgāḥ puṇyāś ca gṛhadīptayaḥ | striyaḥ śriyo gṛhasyoktās tasmād rakṣyā viśeṣataḥ ||
عورتیں قابلِ تعظیم ہیں—وہ بڑی نصیب والی، پاکیزہ اور گھر کی رونق ہیں۔ انہیں گھر کی ‘شری’ کہا گیا ہے؛ اس لیے ان کی خاص طور پر حفاظت کرنی چاہیے۔
