प्रवृत्तवाक् चित्रकथ ऊहवान् प्रतिभानवान् | आशु ग्रन्थस्य वक्ता च यः स पण्डित उच्यते
pravṛttavāk citrakatha ūhavān pratibhānavān | āśu granthasya vaktā ca yaḥ sa paṇḍita ucyate ||
جس کی گفتگو بغیر رکے رواں ہو، جو مناسب مثالوں کے ساتھ متنوع انداز میں بات کر سکے، جو استدلال میں ماہر اور تیز فہم ہو، اور جو کسی متن کا مقصود فوراً بیان کر دے—وہی پنڈت (عالم) کہلاتا ہے۔
