युद्धे येन महादेव: साक्षात्‌ संतोषित: शिव: । तमजेयमनाधृष्यं विजेतुं जिष्णुमच्युतम्‌ । आशंससीह समरे वीरमर्जुनमूर्जितम्‌,'जिन्होंने युद्धमें साक्षात्‌ महादेव शिवको अपने पराक्रमसे संतुष्ट किया है, अपनी मर्यादासे कभी च्युत न होनेवाले उन अजेय, दुर्धर्ष एवं विजयशील बलशाली वीर अर्जुनको तुम युद्धमें जीतनेकी आशा रखते हो, यह बड़े आश्वर्यकी बात है!

yuddhe yena mahādevaḥ sākṣāt santoṣitaḥ śivaḥ | tam ajeyam anādhṛṣyaṃ vijetuṃ jiṣṇum acyutam | āśaṃsasīha samare vīram arjunam ūrjitam ||

جس نے جنگ میں اپنے پرَاکرم سے ساکشات مہادیو شِو کو خوش کیا—جو اَجے، ناقابلِ دسترس، ہمیشہ فاتح اور دھرم کی مر्यادا سے کبھی منحرف نہ ہونے والا ہے—اُس زورآور سورما ارجن کو میدانِ جنگ میں ہرانے کی امید رکھنا واقعی حیرت کی بات ہے!
