Educational Q&A

The verse highlights dharmic etiquette: offering salutations and honoring others, and responding with welcome and a seat. Mutual respect and hospitality are presented as markers of right conduct.

Suparṇa (Garuḍa), along with Gālava, greets and honors a woman; she reciprocates by welcoming them and inviting them to sit on a prepared seat, establishing a courteous, orderly meeting.
