Udyoga Parva Adhyāya 103: Garuḍa’s Protest, Viṣṇu’s Demonstration, and Counsel Toward Śama
yadi te rocate samyag bhujagottama mā ciram | kriyatām āryaka kṣipraṁ buddhiḥ kanyā-parigrahe ||
Timely, well-considered action is part of dharma: when a relationship or alliance is judged proper and beneficial, one should not waver or procrastinate but make a clear decision and proceed responsibly.
Nārada addresses Āryaka with respectful epithets and urges him to act quickly if he finds the proposed marital connection agreeable—specifically, to decide to accept the maiden (the daughter) in marriage, implying the formation of a significant familial alliance.
