Udyoga Parva Adhyāya 103: Garuḍa’s Protest, Viṣṇu’s Demonstration, and Counsel Toward Śama
भक्षितो वैनतेयेन दुःखातास्तेन वै वयम् । पुनरेव च तेनोक्तं वैनतेयेन गच्छता । मासेनान्येन सुमुखं भक्षयिष्य इति प्रभो
bhakṣito vainateyena duḥkhātās tena vai vayam | punar eva ca tenoktaṃ vainateyena gacchatā | māsenānyena sumukhaṃ bhakṣayiṣya iti prabho ||
آریَک نے کہا—“وَینَتےی (گرُڑ) نے میرے بیٹے کو—جو اس لڑکے کا باپ تھا—نگل لیا؛ اسی غم سے ہم شادمانی سے محروم اور شکوہ زدہ ہیں۔ اور وَینَتےی جب یہاں سے روانہ ہو رہا تھا تو اس نے پھر کہا—‘اے پرَبھُو! ایک اور مہینے میں میں سُموکھ کو بھی کھا جاؤں گا۔’ یہ یقیناً ہوگا، کیونکہ ہم گرُڑ کے ارادے کی پختگی جانتے ہیں۔ گرُڑ کے اس اعلان نے میرا سکون و مسرّت چھین لی ہے، اور سبب کی کمزوری کے باعث میں مسلسل خوف زدہ ہوں۔”
