[दाक्षिणात्य अधिक पाठके ६ श्लोक मिलाकर कुल ६५ “लोक हैं।] ऑपन-आक्ाा बा हर: दशमो< ध्याय: इन्द्रसहित देवताओंका भगवान्‌ विष्णुकी शरणमें जाना और इन्द्रका उनके अज्ञानुसार वृत्रासुरसे संधि करके के अवसर पाकर उसे मारना एवं ब्रह्महत्याके भयसे जलमें छिपना इन्द्र उवाच सर्व व्याप्तमिदं देवा वृत्रेण जगदव्ययम्‌ । न हास्य सदृशं किंचित्‌ प्रतिघाताय यद्‌ भवेत्‌

indra uvāca | sarva-vyāptam idaṃ devā vṛtreṇa jagad avyayam | na hāsya sadṛśaṃ kiṃcit pratighātāya yad bhavet ||

اِندر نے کہا—اے دیوتاؤ، وِرترا نے اس سارے لازوال جہان کو روند ڈالا ہے۔ اس کے مانند کوئی نہیں؛ کوئی ایسا ہتھیار یا جوابی قوت موجود نہیں جو اسے گرا سکے۔
