Educational Q&A

True eminence is recognized through the testimony of the wise: Bhīṣma’s ‘fortune’ and ‘influence’ are presented as qualities affirmed by great-souled brāhmaṇas, implying that moral authority and dharmic stature are validated by learned, ethical observers rather than mere power or fame.

Vāsudeva addresses a radiant, mighty figure and states that he has heard respected brāhmaṇas describe Bhīṣma’s exceptional auspiciousness and powerful influence, setting a tone of reverence and establishing Bhīṣma’s stature through reputable oral testimony.
