Educational Q&A

The verse highlights compassionate, dharmic intent: one should employ disciplined mind (yoga) and sacred recitation (brahma/Veda) as a benevolent act aimed at another’s welfare—freedom from suffering and safe return—showing that spiritual practice is ethically oriented toward the good of others.

A Brahmin speaker explains that he is performing repeated Vedic recitation together with auspicious benedictions (svasti-rites), maintaining health and yogic composure, specifically to ensure that a certain person suffers no harm and comes back home safely.
