नारदस्य वच:ः श्रुत्वा शुक: परमबुद्धिमान्‌ । संचिन्त्य मनसा धीरो निश्ष॒यं नाध्यगच्छत,नारदजीकी बात सुनकर परम बुद्धिमान्‌ और धीरचित्त शुकदेवजीने मन-ही-मन बहुत विचार किया; किंतु सहसा वे किसी निश्चयपर न पहुँच सके

nāradasya vacaḥ śrutvā śukaḥ paramabuddhimān | saṃcintya manasā dhīro niścayaṃ nādhyagacchat ||

نارَد کے کلمات سن کر نہایت ذہین اور ثابت قدم شُک نے دل ہی دل میں گہرا غور کیا؛ مگر وہ فوراً کسی قطعی فیصلے تک نہ پہنچ سکا۔
