सूक्ष्मभूत-भूतात्मविज्ञानम्

Knowing the subtle principle and the bhūtātman through yoga

यः सम्प्रसादो जगत: शरीरं सर्वान्‌ स लोकानधिगच्छतीह । तस्मिन्‌ हित॑ तर्पयतीह देवां- स्ते वै तृप्तास्तर्पयन्त्यास्यमस्य,जो मनको प्रसन्नता प्रदान करता है, इस जगत्‌का शरीर है अर्थात्‌ सम्पूर्ण जगत्‌ जिसके विराट्‌ शरीरमें विराजित है, वह परमात्मा इस जगत्‌में सब लोकोंको घेरे हुए स्थित है। उस परमात्मामें ध्यानद्वारा स्थापित किया हुआ मन, इस देहमें स्थित देवताओं-- प्राणोंको तृप्त करता है और वे तृप्त हुए प्राण उस ज्ञानीके मुखको ज्ञानामृतसे तृप्त करते हैं

yaḥ samprasādo jagataḥ śarīraṃ sarvān sa lokān adhigacchatīha | tasmin hitaṃ tarpayatīha devāṃs te vai tṛptās tarpayanty āsyam asya ||

ویاس نے کہا: جو پرماتما سکون و صفا (سمپرساد) کا پیکر اور کائنات کا جسم ہے، وہی یہاں تمام جہانوں کو گھیرے ہوئے قائم ہے۔ جب دھیان کے ذریعے من اس اعلیٰ حقیقت میں جما دیا جاتا ہے تو یہ بدن کے اندر کے دیوتاؤں—یعنی پران شکتیوں—کو سیراب کرتا ہے؛ اور جب پران سیراب ہوتے ہیں تو وہی عارف کے منہ کو معرفت کے امرت سے سیراب کرتے ہیں۔

Educational Q&A

When the mind rests in the Supreme Self (the all-pervading ground of the universe), the inner faculties and vital powers become harmonized and ‘satisfied’; from that harmony arises clarity of speech and understanding—symbolized as the mouth being nourished by the nectar of knowledge.

In the didactic setting of Śānti Parva, Vyāsa explains a yogic-ethical physiology: contemplation of the Supreme steadies the mind; the steadied mind supports the internal ‘deities’ (vital functions); and their well-being supports the sage’s capacity for insight and expression.
