वेदज्ञानं तथा कृत्स्नं तप: सुचरितं तथा । द्रविणोपार्जनं भूरि पात्रे च प्रतिपादनम्
vedajñānaṃ tathā kṛtsnaṃ tapaḥ sucaritaṃ tathā | draviṇopārjanaṃ bhūri pātre ca pratipādanam ||
ویدوں کا کامل علم، اچھی طرح برتی ہوئی تپسیا اور راست کردار؛ کثیر دولت کے حصول کی سرگرم کوشش، اور اہل و مستحق لوگوں کو باقاعدہ طور پر عطا و بخشش کرنا—یہ بھی بادشاہ کے فرائض میں شامل ہیں۔
व्यास उवाच
Royal duty is not only power and protection but disciplined cultivation: complete sacred learning, austerity and moral conduct, responsible wealth-generation, and charitable giving to worthy recipients—together sustaining social order and producing merit.
