अव्यक्त-मानस-सृष्टिवादः

Doctrine of Creation from the Unmanifest ‘Mānasa’

न बिभेति यदा चायं यदा चास्मान्न बिभ्यति । यदा नेच्छति न देष्टि ब्रह्म सम्पद्यते तदा,जब यह किसीसे भय नहीं मानता और इससे भी किसीको भय नहीं होता; तथा जब यह किसी वस्तुको न तो चाहता है और न उससे द्वेष ही करता है, तब परब्रह्म परमात्माको प्राप्त कर लेता है

na bibheti yadā cāyaṃ yadā cāsmān na bibhyati | yadā necchati na deṣṭi brahma sampadyate tadā ||

جب وہ نہ کسی سے ڈرتا ہے اور نہ اس سے کوئی ڈرتا ہے؛ اور جب وہ نہ کسی شے کی خواہش کرتا ہے نہ کسی سے نفرت—تب وہ برہمن، یعنی حقیقتِ اعلیٰ کو پا لیتا ہے۔

Educational Q&A

Liberation is marked by a purified inner life and a harmless social presence: one is fearless, does not intimidate others, and is free from both craving (icchā) and hatred (dveṣa). Such equanimity and non-violence are presented as direct conditions for attaining Brahman.

In Shanti Parva’s instruction on dharma and liberation, a Brahmin speaker describes the qualities of a realized person. The verse is not about an external event but a doctrinal characterization: the sage-like individual becomes established in Brahman when fear, the causing of fear, desire, and aversion have ceased.
