शून्यात् तच्च गृहान्मांसं यद्यप्यपहतं तव । नेच्छते दीयमानं च साधु तावद् विमृश्यताम्,एक ओर तो तुम्हारे सूने घरसे मांसकी चोरी हुई है और दूसरी ओर एक व्यक्ति ऐसा है, जो देनेपर भी मांस लेना नहीं चाहता--इन दोनों बातोंपर पहले अच्छी तरह विचार करो
śūnyāt tac ca gṛhān māṁsaṁ yady apy apahṛtaṁ tava | necchate dīyamānaṁ ca sādhu tāvad vimṛśyatām ||
بھیشم نے کہا—اگرچہ تمہارے خالی گھر سے گوشت واقعی چوری ہوا ہو، مگر یہ دوسری بات بھی ہے کہ ایک شخص ایسا ہے جو پیش کیے جانے پر بھی گوشت قبول نہیں کرتا۔ اس لیے کسی نتیجے پر پہنچنے سے پہلے ان دونوں باتوں پر خوب غور کر لو۔
