अध्याय १ — न्यग्रोधवनोपवेशनम् तथा द्रौणिनिश्चयः

उपदेश: कृतो5नेन पक्षिणा मम संयुगे

upadeśaḥ kṛto 'nena pakṣiṇā mama saṃyuge

سنجے نے کہا—میرے معرکے کے بیچ اس پرندے نے مجھے نصیحت دی ہے؛ جنگ و جدال کے درمیان بھی درست دھرم اور دوراندیش عمل کیا ہے، یہ اس نے سمجھا دیا۔
