Vidura’s Censure of Dicing and Warning to the Kurus
श्रुत्वा तस्य त्वरिता निर्विशड्का: प्राज्ञा दक्षास्तां तदा चक्कुराशु । सर्वद्रव्याण्युपजहुः सभायां सहस्रश: शिल्पिनश्वैव युक्ता:
śrutvā tasya tvaritā nirviśaṅkāḥ prājñā dakṣās tāṃ tadā cakrur āśu | sarvadravyāṇy upajahuḥ sabhāyāṃ sahasraśaḥ śilpinaś caiva yuktāḥ ||
اس کا حکم سن کر تیزرفتار، بےخوف، ماہر اور دانا ہزاروں کاریگر فوراً کام میں جُت گئے۔ انہوں نے جلد ہی اس سبھا کو مکمل کر دیا اور اس کے اندر ہر طرح کی ضروری چیزیں اپنے اپنے مقام پر سجا دیں۔
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Competence, coordination, and fearless execution can rapidly realize a leader’s directive; ethically, such efficiency is value-neutral and gains moral weight from the intention it serves—highlighting the responsibility of both rulers and those who implement their orders.
After receiving an order, thousands of capable craftsmen promptly begin work, quickly complete the assembly hall, and furnish it with all necessary items arranged appropriately.
