यस्यां यस्यामवस्थायां यद् यत् कर्म करोति यः । तस्यां तस्यामवस्थायां तत् फलं समवाप्नुयात्,जो जिस-जिस अवस्थामें जो-जो कर्म करता है, वह उसी-उसी अवस्थामें उसके फलको प्राप्त करता है
yasyāṁ yasyām avasthāyāṁ yad yat karma karoti yaḥ | tasyāṁ tasyām avasthāyāṁ tat phalaṁ samavāpnuyāt ||
آدمی جس جس حالت میں جو جو عمل کرتا ہے، وہ اسی اسی حالت میں اس کا پھل پاتا ہے۔
श्रीकृष्ण उवाच
Actions bear results that correspond to the doer’s specific situation and conduct; one experiences the fruit of one’s deeds in the very context in which they are performed, emphasizing personal responsibility and ethical accountability.
Śrīkṛṣṇa states a general principle about karma and its fruits, framing how deeds inevitably yield fitting outcomes—an ethical maxim applied to the unfolding events of the epic.
