मागधगिरिव्रजप्रवेशः — Entry into Girivraja and Jarāsandha’s Protocol Inquiry
दृष्टवा पौरैस्तदा सम्यग् गदा चैव निवेदिता । गदावसानं तत् ख्यातं मथुराया: समीपत:
dṛṣṭvā pauraiḥ tadā samyag gadā caiva niveditā | gadāvasānaṃ tat khyātaṃ mathurāyāḥ samīpataḥ ||
وَیشَمپایَن نے کہا—شہریوں نے اسے اچھی طرح دیکھ کر اسی گدا کی خبر بھگوان شری کرشن کو دی۔ مَتھُرا کے قریب جہاں وہ گدا آ کر ٹھہری، وہ جگہ ‘گَداآوَسان’ یعنی گدا کے اختتام/ٹھہراؤ کے نام سے مشہور ہو گئی۔
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights how public witness and truthful reporting preserve memory and create sacred geography: an event becomes ethically and culturally significant when it is clearly observed, responsibly communicated, and commemorated as a named place.
Citizens see the mace and inform Śrī Kṛṣṇa about it. The location near Mathurā where the mace came to rest becomes known thereafter as Gadāvasāna.
