कर्णनिधनश्रवणम् — Hearing of Karṇa’s Fall and Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Lament
पत्तीनां निहता: संघा हयानां प्रयुतानि च । रथव्रजाश्न निहता हताश्न वरवारणा:
pattīnāṁ nihatāḥ saṅghā hayānāṁ prayutāni ca | rathavrajaś ca nihatā hatāś ca varavāraṇāḥ ||
سنجے نے کہا—پیادوں کے پورے پورے جتھے مارے گئے؛ گھوڑے بھی پرَیُت (دس دس ہزار) کی تعداد میں ہلاک ہوئے۔ رتھوں کے دستے تباہ ہو گئے اور برگزیدہ ہاتھی بھی مردہ پڑے تھے—یہ جنگ کی بے رحم، تباہ کن لہر اور اس کی بھاری قیمت تھی۔
