“गुरुदेव! पुरुषसिंह अर्जुन हमारी इस विशाल सेनाको मथकर व्यूहके भीतर चला गया। अब आप अपनी बुद्धिसे यह विचार कीजिये कि इसके बाद अर्जुनके विनाशके लिये क्या करना चाहिये? इस भयंकर नरसंहारमें जिस प्रकार भी पुरुषसिंह जयद्रथ न मारे जायँ
sañjaya uvāca |
asau dhanañjayān nṛpa kopamārutacoditaḥ |
senākakṣaṃ dahati me vahniḥ kakṣam ivotthitaḥ |
tvarann ekarathenaiva sametya droṇam abravīt ||
سنجے نے کہا: اے راجن! یہ دھننجے (ارجن) غضب کی آندھی سے اُکسایا ہوا، میری فوج کی دفاعی صفوں کو یوں جلا رہا ہے جیسے اچانک بھڑک اٹھنے والی جنگل کی آگ خشک جھاڑیوں اور بن کو راکھ کر دے۔ یہ بھگدڑ پھیلتی دیکھ کر تمہارا بیٹا دُریودھن ایک ہی رتھ میں تیزی سے درون کے پاس گیا؛ اس سے ملا اور بولا۔
