पूर्वाह्नि तन्महारीद्रं राज्ञां युद्धमवर्तत । कुरूणां पाण्डवानां च मुख्यशूरविनाशनम्,पूर्वाह्नकालमें कौरव-पाण्डव नरेशोंका वह महा-भयंकर युद्ध आरम्भ हुआ, जो बड़े- बड़े शूरवीरोंका विनाश करनेवाला था
pūrvāhṇi tan-mahārīdraṃ rājñāṃ yuddham avartata | kurūṇāṃ pāṇḍavānāṃ ca mukhya-śūra-vināśanam ||
سنجے نے کہا—پیش از دوپہر کوروؤں اور پانڈوؤں کے بادشاہوں کے درمیان وہ نہایت ہولناک جنگ شروع ہوئی، جو بڑے بڑے نامور سورماؤں کی ہلاکت کا سبب بننے والی تھی۔
