तं शब्दं तुमुलं श्रुत्वा पाण्डवानां महारथा:

Transliteration

sañjaya uvāca |

taṁ śabdaṁ tumulaṁ śrutvā pāṇḍavānāṁ mahārathāḥ |

atāḍayan raṇe bhīṣmaṁ sahitāḥ sarvasṛñjayāḥ ||

Translation

سنجے نے کہا—پانڈوؤں کی اٹھائی ہوئی وہ ہیبت ناک، ہنگامہ خیز للکار سن کر سُرِنجَی کے سبھی مہارتھی ایک ساتھ صف باندھ کر رَن میں بھیشم پر ٹوٹ پڑے۔ شتگھنی، پریگھ، فرسا، مُدگر، مُسل، پراس، گوفن، سونے کے پروں والے تیر، شکتی، تومر، کمپن، نارچ، وتس دنت اور بھوشُنڈی وغیرہ ہتھیاروں سے انہوں نے چاروں طرف سے وار کر کے میدانِ جنگ میں بھیشم کو سخت اذیت پہنچانی شروع کی۔
