Shloka 4

महान्‌ व्यतिकरो रौद्र: सेनयो: समपद्यत । नरनागगणेष्वेवं विकीर्णेषु च सर्वश:,उन दोनों सेनाओंमें अत्यन्त भयंकर घोलमेल हो गया। इसी तरह मनुष्य और हाथियोंके समूह सब ओर बिखर गये थे

sañjaya uvāca |

mahān vyatikaro raudraḥ senayoḥ samapadyata |

nara-nāga-gaṇeṣv evaṁ vikīrṇeṣu ca sarvaśaḥ ||

دونوں لشکروں میں نہایت ہولناک اور رَودْر اختلاط برپا ہو گیا۔ اسی طرح آدمیوں اور ہاتھیوں کے جتھے بھی ہر سمت بکھر گئے۔
