प्रकृत्यात्मकमेवाहू रज: पर्यायकारकम् । प्रवृत्तं सर्वभूतेषु दृश्यमुत्पत्तिलक्षणम्
prakṛtyātmakam evāhu rajaḥ paryāyakārakam | pravṛttaṃ sarvabhūteṣu dṛśyam utpattilakṣaṇam ||
رَجَس کو عینِ پرکرتی (فطرت) کہا گیا ہے؛ یہی تبدیلی اور گردش کا اصول ہے۔ یہ تمام بھوتوں (مخلوقات) میں کارفرما دکھائی دیتا ہے؛ یہ ظاہر دنیا اسی کی علامت ہے—پیدائش اور مسلسل سرگرمی ہی اس کی پہچان ہے۔
