Discourse on Desire, Possessiveness, and Ritual Duty
कामात्मान॑ न प्रशंसन्ति लोके नेहाकामा काचिदस्ति प्रवृत्ति: । सर्वे कामा मनसोज्जप्रभूता यान् पण्डित: संहरते विचिन्त्य
kāmātmānaṁ na praśaṁsanti loke nehākāmā kācid asti pravṛttiḥ | sarve kāmā manaso 'jja-prabhūtā yān paṇḍitaḥ saṁharate vicintya ||
جس کا دل خواہشات کا غلام ہو، دنیا اسے سراہتی نہیں۔ یہاں کوئی بھی سرگرمی خواہش کے بغیر نہیں اٹھتی، اور تمام خواہشیں اسی ذہن سے جنم لیتی ہیں۔ اس لیے دانا لوگ گہری سوچ بچار کر کے، خواہشات کو رنج و الم کا سبب جان کر، انہیں قابو میں رکھتے اور ترک کر دیتے ہیں۔
