Educational Q&A

Even after loss and withdrawal from royal life, dharma is sustained through disciplined daily conduct—here, the observance of vidhivat śauca (prescribed purification), reflecting self-restraint and reverence for sacred order.

Vaishampayana narrates that toward evening the king (Dhṛtarāṣṭra) and Gandhārī go to the river Gaṅgā and perform ritual purification—primarily bathing and related observances—according to proper procedure.
