Puṣkara-Śapatha Itihāsa (Agastya–Indra Dispute at the Tīrthas) |
śunaḥsakha uvāca | ebhir uktaṃ yathā nāma nāhaṃ vaktum ihotsahe | śunaḥsakhasakhāyaṃ māṃ yātudhāny upadhāraya ||
The verse highlights restraint and self-awareness in speech: when one feels unfit or unwilling to speak on a matter, one should refrain, while also acknowledging how one may be perceived through associations.
Śunaḥsakha responds by declining to elaborate further, saying he does not feel capable of speaking here, and asks the listener to regard him in relation to Śunaḥsakha while also noting his connection with a yātudhānī (a demonic/witch-like figure).
