Śrāddha-Kalpa: Pitṛ-Pūjā and Tithi-Phala (श्राद्धकल्पः पितृपूजा च तिथिफलम्)
भीष्म उवाच शृणु राजन्नवहितो बहुकारणविस्तरम् । जातरूपसमुत्पत्तिमनुभूतं च यन््मया,भीष्मजीने कहा--राजन्! ध्यान देकर सुनो! सुवर्णकी उत्पत्तिका कारण बहुत विस्तृत है। इस विषयमें मैंने जो अनुभव किया है, उसके अनुसार तुम्हें सब बातें बता रहा हूँ
bhīṣma uvāca: śṛṇu rājann avahito bahu-kāraṇa-vistaram | jātarūpa-samutpattim anubhūtaṃ ca yan mayā ||
بھیشم نے کہا— اے راجن! پوری توجہ سے سنو۔ سونے (جاتروپ) کی پیدائش کے اسباب بہت ہیں اور ان کی تفصیل بھی وسیع ہے۔ میں نے جو کچھ جیسا سمجھا اور برتا ہے، اسی ترتیب سے تمہیں بیان کرتا ہوں۔
