Go-dāna-stuti and Ghṛta-Japa

Praise of cow-gift and ghee-centered recitation

गोप्रदानीति वक्तव्यमर्घ्यवस्त्रवसुप्रद: । ऊर्ध्वास्या भवितव्या च वैष्णवीति च चोदयेत्‌

Transliteration

bhīṣma uvāca | gopradānīti vaktavyam arghyavastravasupradaḥ | ūrdhvāsyā bhavitavyā ca vaiṣṇavīti ca codayet ||

Translation

اسے باقاعدہ طور پر ‘گَو پردانی’ (گائے دینے والا) اور ‘اَर्घ्य، لباس اور دولت عطا کرنے والا’ کہہ کر اعلان کیا جائے۔ نیز اسے شگونِ نیک کے اعتماد کے ساتھ چہرہ بلند رکھنے کی تلقین کی جائے اور ‘وَیشṇوی’—یعنی وِشنو کا بھکت—کہہ کر مخاطب و حوصلہ افزائی کی جائے۔
