गोप्रदानगुणाः तथा कपिलागोविधानम्
Merits of Cow-Gift and the Origin-Account of Kapilā Cows
सत्ये धर्मे च निरतस्तस्य शक्र फलं शृणु । गोसहस्रेण समिता तस्य थेनुर्भवत्युत
pitāmaha uvāca | satye dharme ca niratas tasya śakra phalaṃ śṛṇu | go-sahasreṇa samitā tasya dhenur bhavaty uta | śacīpate śakra |
پِتامہ نے کہا: اے شکر! جو سچائی اور دھرم میں راسخ رہتا ہے، اُس کے حصّے میں آنے والے پھل کو سنو۔ ایسے شخص کی دی ہوئی ایک ہی گائے بھی ثواب میں ہزار گایوں کے دان کے برابر ہو جاتی ہے۔ اے شچی پتی شکر! برہمن کے ساتھ کبھی سخت کلامی نہ کرنی چاہیے اور گایوں کے بارے میں دل میں بھی عداوت کا خیال نہ لانا چاہیے۔ جو گائے کی مانند نرم خو، اَہنسا پسند اور دوسروں کی پرورش کرنے والی روشِ زندگی اختیار کرے، گایوں کے لیے گھاس چارہ وغیرہ کا اہتمام کرے اور سچائی و راست دھرم پر ثابت قدم رہے—اُس کا ایک گودان بھی گو سہسر دان کے برابر پھل دیتا ہے۔
