evam ukte tu vacane dharmarājena sa dvijaḥ | dharmarājaṃ prati evam āha— “dharmeṇa kadācana na cyuta deva! mama jīvitasya yaḥ śeṣaḥ kālaḥ, tasmin aham ihaiva sthāsyāmi” ||

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights unwavering adherence to dharma and the virtue of steadiness: the brāhmaṇa chooses to remain where righteous governance and ethical order prevail, valuing a dharmic life over change driven by fatigue or uncertainty.

After Dharmarāja speaks, a brāhmaṇa responds respectfully, addressing him as one who never deviates from dharma, and declares that he will spend the remainder of his life staying there—signaling acceptance of Dharmarāja’s direction and trust in his righteous authority.
