पूपान् पुनर्वसौ दत्त्वा तथैवान्नानि शो भने । यशस्वी रूपसम्पन्नो बद्धन्नो जायते कुले
pūpān punarvasau dattvā tathaivānnāni śobhane | yaśasvī rūpasampanno baddhānno jāyate kule ||
نارد نے کہا—اے شوبھنے! پُنَروَسو کے وقت میٹھے کیک (پوپ) اور اسی طرح اناج کا دان کرنے سے انسان اعلیٰ خاندان میں جنم لیتا ہے؛ وہاں وہ نامور، خوش صورت اور کثرتِ غلہ سے مالا مال ہوتا ہے۔
नारद उवाच
Generous giving—especially of food and festive offerings at an auspicious time—creates merit that ripens as favorable life circumstances: birth in a good family, along with fame, beauty, and secure sustenance.
Nārada is explaining the results (phala) of a specific charitable act: donating sweet cakes and food during the Punarvasu observance. He states the auspicious outcomes that accrue to the donor in a future birth.
