Brāhmaṇa-pūjā, Haviḥ-dāna, and the Vāsudeva–Pṛthivī Saṃvāda
Chapter 34
tapasvinaś ca ye nityaṃ kaumāra-brahmacāriṇaḥ | tapasā bhāvitātmāno durgāṇy atitaranti te ||
Steady brahmacarya and sustained tapas refine the mind and character; this inner purification becomes the strength by which one overcomes severe dangers and difficult life-situations.
Nārada is instructing by praising the spiritual efficacy of ascetic discipline: true tapasvins—especially lifelong brahmacārins—develop an empowered, purified inner self that can carry them through crises that would overwhelm others.
