इस प्रकार व्यासनिर्मित श्रीमयहाभारत शतसाहसी संहितारें अनुशासनपर्वके अन्तर्गत भीष्मस्वगरिहणपर्वमें दानधर्म तथा भीष्म-युधिष्ठिरसंवादके प्रसंगरें भीष्मजीकी मुक्ति नामक एक सौ अड़्सठवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ
iti prakāraṃ vyāsa-nirmita-śrī-mahābhārata-śata-sāhasrī-saṃhitāyām anuśāsana-parvaṇi antargate bhīṣma-svargārohaṇa-parvaṇi dāna-dharma tathā bhīṣma-yudhiṣṭhira-saṃvāda-prasaṅge bhīṣma-jī-mukti-nāmaka eka-śata-aṣṭa-ṣaṣṭitamo 'dhyāyaḥ samāptaḥ
یوں وِیاس-تصنیف شری مہابھارت کی شتساہسری سنہتا کے انوشاسن پَرو میں—بھیشم سْوَرگارُوہن پَرو کے ضمن میں، دان دھرم اور بھیشم-یُدھِشٹھِر سنواد کے پس منظر میں—‘بھیشم کی مُکتی’ نامی ایک سو اڑسٹھواں ادھیائے مکمل ہوا۔
