Anuśāsana-parva 17
महातपा घोरतपा अदीनो दीनसाधक: । संवत्सरकरो मन्त्र: प्रमाणं परमं तप:
mahātapā ghoratapā adīno dīnasādhakaḥ | saṃvatsarakaro mantraḥ pramāṇaṃ paramaṃ tapaḥ ||
وایو نے کہا— وہ عظیم تپسوی ہے، ہیبت ناک ریاضت والا؛ وہ کریم النفس ہے، اور پناہ لینے والے بےکس و غمزدہ لوگوں کی امیدیں پوری کرنے والا۔ وہ سال کا بنانے والا ہے؛ وہ اوم (پرنَو) وغیرہ کی صورت میں منتر ہے؛ وہی معیارِ حق (پرَمان) ہے، اور تپسیا کی اعلیٰ ترین حقیقت بھی وہی ہے۔
