Shloka 96

मनुष्यान्‌ शिवमन्विच्छंस्तस्मादेष शिव: स्मृत: । अथवा उनकी जटाका रूप धूम्र वर्णका है

manuṣyān śivam anvicchan tasmād eṣa śivaḥ smṛtaḥ |

وایو نے کہا—چونکہ وہ انسانوں کی بھلائی (شیو) چاہتا ہے، اسی لیے وہ ‘شیو’ کے نام سے یاد کیا جاتا ہے۔ اس کی جٹائیں دھوئیں کے رنگ کی ہیں، اس لیے اسے ‘دھورجٹی’ کہا جاتا ہے؛ اور وہ ہر طرح کے اعمال کے ذریعے سب کی ترقی کرتا اور سب کی خیر ہی چاہتا ہے—اسی لیے اس کا نام ‘شیو’ بالکل موزوں ہے۔
