Educational Q&A

The verse highlights a deity’s supreme, beneficent power: he is both a cosmic creator (bringing forth Agni) and a compassionate protector who frees afflicted beings from suffering, restoring their prāṇa and well-being.

Vāyu-deva is praising or describing a foremost divine figure, stating that this god produced Agni from his mouth and also liberates living beings whose life-force is oppressed by various graha-related afflictions.
