न च मे स्तोकमप्यासीद् दुःखमीकष्याकृतं तदा । तथा स राजमार्गेण महता निर्ययौ बहि:,उस समय मेरे मनमें थोड़ा-सा भी ईर्ष्याजनित दुःख नहीं हुआ। इसी अवस्थामें वे महलसे बाहर आकर विशाल राजमार्गसे चलने लगे
na ca me stokam apy āsīd duḥkham īkṣyākṛtaṃ tadā | tathā sa rājamārgeṇa mahatā niryayau bahiḥ ||
اس وقت میرے دل میں حسد سے پیدا ہونے والا ذرا سا بھی رنج نہ اٹھا۔ پھر وہ محل سے باہر نکلا اور وسیع شاہی سڑک پر چل پڑا۔
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse highlights freedom from īkṣyā (envy/jealousy) as an ethical discipline: even when witnessing another’s situation or fortune, one should not allow envy-born distress to arise, maintaining inner steadiness.
Vāyu narrates that, at that moment, he felt no envy-induced sorrow; immediately afterward, the person being described exits the palace and moves along the wide royal road, indicating a public departure or onward journey.
