स पञ्चाधा पञ्चजनोपपन्नं संचोदयन्‌ विश्वमिदं सिसुक्षु: । ततश्चलकारावनिमारुतौ च खं ज्योतिरम्भश्ष॒ तथैव पार्थ

sa pañcadhā pañcajanopapannaṃ saṃcodayan viśvam idaṃ sisukṣuḥ | tataś calakārāvanimārutau ca khaṃ jyotir ambhaś ca tathaiva pārtha kuntīkumarāḥ |

بھیشم نے کہا—اے کنتی کے بیٹے! پانچ قسم کے جاندار گروہوں کے ساتھ اس کائنات کو پیدا کرنے کی خواہش سے وہ برترین محرّک پانچ گونہ صورتوں میں ہو کر عالم کو حرکت میں لاتا اور سب کو اپنی فرمانبرداری میں رکھتا ہے۔ پھر اسی نے ترتیب سے پانچ مہابھوت—زمین، پانی، تیز (آگ/نور)، ہوا اور آکاش—کو پیدا کیا۔
