Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
गोचारिणो<5थाश्मकुट्टा दन्तोलूखलिकास्तथा । मरीचिपा: फेनपाश्चव तथैव मृगचारिण:
gocāriṇo ’tha aśmakuṭṭā dantolūkhalikās tathā | marīcipāḥ phenapāś ca tathaiva mṛgacāriṇaḥ ||
واسودیو نے کہا—کچھ لوگ گاؤ سیوا کا ورت لے کر گایوں ہی کے ساتھ رہتے اور انہی کے ساتھ گھومتے پھرتے تھے۔ کچھ پتھر پر پیس کر غذا کھاتے تھے، اور کچھ اپنے دانتوں ہی کو اوکھلی اور موسل کی طرح کام میں لاتے تھے۔ کچھ سورج کی کرنیں ‘پیتے’ تھے، کچھ جھاگ ‘پیتے’ تھے؛ اور اسی طرح بہت سے مُنی مِرگ چریا کا ورت لے کر ہرنوں کے ساتھ رہتے اور انہی کے سنگ بھٹکتے تھے۔
