Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
चारुदेष्ण: सुचारुश्ष चारुवेशो यशोधर: । चारुश्रवाश्लारुयशा: प्रद्युम्न: शम्भुरेव च
Cārudeṣṇaḥ sucāruś ca cāruveśo yaśodharaḥ | Cāruśravāś cāruyaśāḥ pradyumnaḥ śambhur eva ca ||
اے مدھوسودن! چارودیشْن، سُچارُو، چارُوویش، یشودھر، چارُوشْرَوا، چارُویَشا، پردیومن اور شَمبھو—یہ میرے نیک بخت، بہادر اور خوش صورت، عظیم پرَاکرم والے بیٹے ہیں۔ جس طرح تم نے رُکمِنی کے بطن سے مجھے ایسے بیٹے عطا کیے، اسی طرح مجھے بھی بیٹا عطا فرما۔
