Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
त्वया द्वादशवर्षाणि व्रती भूतेन शुष्यता । आराध्य पशुभर्तारें रुक्मिण्यां जनिता: सुता:,“आपने बारह वर्षोतक व्रतपरायण हो अपने शरीरको सुखाकर भगवान् पशुपतिकी आराधना की और रुक्मिणीदेवीके गर्भसे अनेक पुत्र उत्पन्न किये
tvayā dvādaśa-varṣāṇi vratī bhūtena śuṣyatā | ārādhya paśu-bhartāraṁ rukmiṇyāṁ janitāḥ sutāḥ ||
تم نے بارہ برس تک نذر و ریاضت اختیار کر کے تپسیا سے بدن کو لاغر کیا، اور پشوپتی (ربِّ مخلوقات) کی عبادت کی؛ تب رُکمِنی کے بطن سے تمہارے بیٹے پیدا ہوئے۔
