Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
रुद्रभवत्या तु कृष्णेन जगद् व्याप्तं महात्मना । त॑ं प्रसाद्य तदा देवं बदर्या किल भारत
rudrabhavatyā tu kṛṣṇena jagad vyāptaṃ mahātmanā | taṃ prasādya tadā devaṃ badaryā kila bhārata ||
بھیشم نے کہا—رُدر کی قوت سے بہرہ ور مہاتما شری کرشن نے اس سارے جگت کو اپنے اثر سے گھیر رکھا ہے۔ اے بھارت! کہا جاتا ہے کہ قدیم زمانے میں بدری میں مہادیو کو راضی کرکے، دیویہ درشتی والے مہیشور سے انہوں نے ہر شے سے بڑھ کر محبوبیت کی حالت پائی؛ اسی لیے وہ تمام لوکوں میں سب سے زیادہ محبوب بن گئے۔
