Viṣṇu-sahasranāma—Yudhiṣṭhira’s Inquiry and Bhīṣma’s Recitation (विष्णोर्नामसहस्रम्)
धर्मदोषास्त्विमे पञज्च येषां नास्तीह निष्कृति: । असम्भाष्या अनाचारा वर्जनीया नराधमा:
dharmadoṣās tv ime pañca yeṣāṁ nāstīha niṣkṛtiḥ | asambhāṣyā anācārā varjanīyā narādhamāḥ ||
یَم نے کہا: “دھرم کے یہ پانچ عیب ایسے ہیں جن کی یہاں کوئی کفّارہ نہیں۔ جو بدکردار ہیں ان سے گفتگو نہ کی جائے؛ ایسے کمینے لوگوں کو دور ہی سے چھوڑ دینا چاہیے۔”
यम उवाच
Some violations of dharma are so grave that they admit of no atonement; therefore, one should protect one’s own dharmic life by refusing association—especially conversation and intimacy—with those who persist in such misconduct.
In Yama’s instruction on dharma, he introduces a set of five dharma-related faults (to be detailed subsequently) and warns that people marked by these faults are beyond expiation in this context and should be shunned.
