अध्याय १३२ — कर्मणा मनसा वाचा: स्वर्गमार्गः तथा आयुर्विपाकः

Adhyāya 132 — The path to heaven through deed, mind, and speech; karmic results for lifespan

गार्ग्य उवाच आतिथ्यं सततं कुर्याद्‌ दीपं दद्यात्‌ प्रतिश्रये । वर्जयानो दिवा स्वापं न च मांसानि भक्षयेत्‌

gārgya uvāca | ātithyaṃ satataṃ kuryād dīpaṃ dadyāt pratiśraye | varjayāno divā svāpaṃ na ca māṃsāni bhakṣayet |

گارگیہ نے کہا—ہمیشہ مہمان نوازی کرے؛ اپنے گھر میں (مہمانوں اور زیرِکفالت لوگوں کے لیے) چراغ، یعنی روشنی کا اہتمام کرے۔ دن میں سونا چھوڑ دے اور گوشت نہ کھائے۔
